Portland has a wealth of small, creative businesses--this definitely isn't your average "big box store" kinda of city. We love that the diversity in our shopping areas is just one thing that keeps our town interesting. During tough times, however, it's extra fragile. Most small retailers operate at the edge of their financial comfort even on a good day. So consider making a purchase at some of these small, excellent shops that we LOVE because of their unique point of view and their super people.
