Multicolored Woven Wall HangingKia Gardner
Need a statement piece for an empty wall? These woven, one-of-a-kind, handwoven wall hangings by artist, Kia Gardner, are just what you're looking for. Of her pieces, Kia writes: "The inspiration for the weaving came from my favorite modernist American painter, Stuart Davis. One of his artistic philosophies centered on the idea that all parts of the field of observation are centers of focus; in other words, the piece becomes an indivisible whole visually, allowing the viewer's eye to move constantly around the piece. Using bold colors and abstract shapes to accomplish this gives what Davis considered a 'constructive order.' That constructive order is exactly what I was going for in the design of the weaving. I want the viewer to see harmony and feel calm happiness within the cacophony of color and textures."
